Synopsis:
The Apprentice is a British reality television series in which a group of aspiring young businessmen and women compete for the chance to win a £100,000-a-year job as an apprentice to the British business magnate Lord Sugar (previously known as "Sir Alan Sugar") in series one through six. The Apprentice, billed as a "job interview from hell", is very similar in format to the American series of the same name, which stars entrepreneur Donald Trump.[7] On 5 July 2011, a show source detailed that the "interview" round will feature in the final show and that instead of the usual two finalists, there will be four.[8]

The Apprentice sees candidates separated into two teams, competing against each other for a position working for Sir Alan Sugar. Each week the candidates take part in a task set by Sir Alan, and each team will nominate a Project Manager for that task. Sir Alan's trusted aides, Margaret and Nick, will follow the groups, and inform Sir Alan how each group has fared. The team that performs the best will win a reward and avoid the dreaded boardroom confrontation. However, for the losing team, they will be summoned to the boardroom where their project manager will be forced to pick two colleagues in their team to face the possibility of being fired.
