Synopsis:
The second episode of the seventh season of “The Closer” opens with a sweeping overhead shot of a cemetery crowded with police cars and uniformed officers. At the end of the last episode we left Chief Delk on the floor of Major Crimes unconscious with an ambulance on the way. Now we find out he has died of an aneurism and Chief Pope was named the new interim chief at an announcement right there at the burial. Brenda arrives at the home where the body of a young woman is found. She was house sitting for a family who had just returned from vacation. Ashley, the house sitter who was a family friend, had been dead for days. She seems to have been assaulted and possibly raped. The house was burglarized, though there was no forced entry.
