WWE Championship: Champion John Cena vs. CM Punk
Rules of the Match: If John Cena loses the title then he will be fired.
Events leading to this match: CM Punk was originally slated to be in this match due to beating Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio in a #1 Contender's Match. To add further intrigue to that match, CM Punk's contract with WWE expires at midnight following this show. CM Punk had promised that he would leave the company as the WWE Champion. His promise and tirade against the company led to Vince McMahon suspending Punk and taking him out if this match. After Cena pleaded with Vince to reinstate Punk, Vince stated that if CM Punk won the title from John Cena then he would fire Cena.
World Heavyweight Championship: Champion Randy Orton vs. Christian
Rules of the match: If Randy Orton is disqualified or there is bad officiating then Christian will become the new champion.
Events leading to this match: Christian lost a championship rematch to Randy Orton at Capitol Punishment due to a controversial referee's decision. Christian had some difficulty securing this rematch but once he did he had his lawyer throw in the previously mentioned stipulation.
