Marco Reus (Borussia Moenchengladbach)

The 20-year old supporting striker has been a revelation this year for Gladbach. With seven goals to his name - including three in his last five matches - Reus is his team’s joint-top scorer alongside Roel Brouwers. Bayern Munich have long ago got used to being the dominant force in German football, so it is little wonder that the team get significantly reinforced every time the Bavarians miss out on the league title.

After coming third in Bundesliga last term, Bayern chiefs have recognized the weak spots of the side and made some shrewd signings this summer.

Apart from coach Jupp Heynckes, who did wonders with Bayer Leverkusen last term, the Bavarians added much needed steel to the back line with captures of Manuel Neuer, Rafinha and Jerome Boateng.

The team did well to avoid any upsets in the first round of DFB Pokal, having beaten Eintracht Braunschweig 3:0 and they are now 1.22 (2/9) with Victor Chandler to win this game as well.

The good news is that both Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery have resumed training following their recovery from injuries, but while the Dutch winger is expected in the starting line-up, the other part of the Robbery duo will have to settle for a place on the bench.
