Hajduk Split vs Stoke City  preview

Stoke should be able to name a full-strength side for Thursday's Europa League third qualifying round first leg tie against Hajduk Split.
Jermaine Pennant and Matthew Etherington are battling knocks while Jon Walters has a virus but Tony Pulis expects all three to be available for the game at the Britannia Stadium.
The Potters boss is also considering handing a competitive debut to Jonathan Woodgate after he came through a friendly at Aldershot on Saturday with no problems.

The 31-year-old joined the Potters on a pay-as-you-play deal this summer after making only four appearances in the last two seasons for Tottenham because of injury.
Ricardo Fuller, Danny Higginbotham and Mamady Sidibe are long-term absentees.

Pulis urges players to embrace Hadjuk challenge

Stoke boss Tony Pulis wants his players to embrace the occasion when they take on Hajduk Split in the raucous Stadion Poljud on Thursday night.

The Potters go into the Europa League third qualifying round second leg holding a narrow 1-0 advantage over their Croatian opponents, who are expected to be roared on by more than 30,000 supporters.

Much could depend on how Stoke - who are contesting their first major European tie for 37 years - handle the atmosphere and Pulis has urged his side to show no fear.

"We've played at big stadiums for the past three years, and some of them can be pretty hostile,'' Pulis said.

"The big thing for us is that it is a new adventure and I don't think we should treat it in any other way.

"If our best is good enough, then brilliant and if it's not, so be it. But we must make sure we come here with no inhibitions whatsoever.

"For a lot of them it will be a new experience, so it will be interesting to see how they react, but they are in good spirits and I think they are looking forward to it
