The Serbian, who scored Dynamo's equaliser in their opening group match at home to Stoke, started the week with a bandage covering a hand injury but returned to full training with the rest of the squad on Tuesday and now sees no reason why he cannot play against Maccabi.

He told his club's official website: "This is a very important game and if we show the same level of football which we demonstrated in the game with Shakhtar Donetsk (with whom they drew 0-0 on Saturday) we will be sure to win.

"We have not looked at Thursday's opponents in detail yet and their style of play has not been discussed. We will meet at our base and begin to prepare. Personally I have only seen the game that Maccabi played against Besiktas (which the Israelis lost 5-1) and that is all, but (coach) Yuri (Semin) must show us the ropes before Thursday." Dynamo come into the match unbeaten in domestic league action, having won eight and drawn three of their opening 11 matches to be level on points with leaders Shakhtar Donetsk, who have a goal difference superior by one. It will also be a special game for Dynamo's star forward Andriy Shevchenko, with the former AC Milan and Chelsea man celebrating his 35th birthday in Israel.

Facing Shakhtar will be good preparation for Dynamo against Maccabi, who have won their last six European games at the Bloomfield Stadium and are unbeaten in their last 11 home European matches, a run which stretches back to the 2004-05 campaign when they lost to Bayern Munich.

Maccabi are going well in the Israeli top flight, winning five of their first six games to lead the table by one point from city rivals Hapoel Tel Aviv.

They warmed up for the visit of Dynamo with a 4-1 win away to Hapoel Beersheva but prior to that had suffered their only domestic defeat of the season so far to Ironi Ramat HaSharon a week ago.
