Venue: Stamford Bridge
MATCH PREVIEW
Chris Hughton will have a handful of individuals that will need assessing before the game at the Etihad Stadium. Nikola Zigic has returned to full training and could make his first appearance in a Birmingham shirt this season. However, Keith Fahay will not be fit enough and is still a week or so away from being fit, while Jordon Mutch is a long-term injury problem.
Man City news
Mancini plans to make several changes to his side for the clash with Birmingham but City have such strength in depth they will fancy their chances of not only progressing to the last 16 but going all the way to the final.
Two players set to feature after long absences are summer signing Owen Hargreaves and defender Kolo Toure.
Toure has had to serve a six-month suspension after failing a drugs test at the start of March and Mancini will take the opportunity to ease him back into action.
Midfielder Hargreaves is poised to make his debut after arriving as a free agent during the transfer window following his release from Manchester United, although Mancini is more likely to use him off the bench.
Carlos Tevez, Mario Balotelli and Adam Johnson could all start as the manager looks to give full matches to a number of players.
Nigel de Jong (foot) is still out but James Milner, who missed last week's draw with Fulham after a clash of heads, could return.
