Nott'm Forest v Derby Npower Championship Preview

Saturday, 17 September 2011
Npower Championship
Nott'm Forest v Derby, 13:00 BST
Venue: City Ground

Nottingham Forest and Derby County. Near neighbours who don't get on. Each with their own proud history, fed up of the hard times, and believing they really belong in the higher echelons.

It's one of the stand-out fixtures in the Championship calendar with enough sub-plots to keep the audience of a primetime soap opera on the edge of their seats.

There's the former England manager struggling to get to grips with his latest challenge. In the opposite dug-out a man called Clough. Now the boss at Derby but once at Forest playing for his father back in the day when they won silverware.

Two of the current Forest squad started at Derby, while the visitors could include a man who quit the City Ground in the summer. A man who at the end of this fixture two years ago celebrated victory by waving a Forest corner flag in front of the Derby supporters creating an on pitch melee that led to both clubs being fined by the FA.

Steve McClaren, Nigel Clough, Lee Camp, Marcus Tudgay and Nathan Tyson all have their own reasons to want victory that little bit more this Saturday.

Last season Forest did the double and their 5-2 romp at home really rubbed Derby's noses in it but it's the Rams who have made the more assured start to the current campaign.

Despite back-to-back defeats they're still fifth in the table while the Reds are on the edge of the relegation zone and are still looking for their first home win.
