Lennon's side have won seven SPL games in a row and are odds-on favourites to make it eight on Saturday, but the Irishman would rather not tempt fate.
Lennon, whose side have moved within four points of leaders Rangers, was waiting for te 1955 statistic to be mentioned.
"Every time they come here I get asked that,'' he said. "Obviously it's a record that I would like to keep intact.
"We want to make it eight games in a row going into the Rangers game on the 28th. It is important to go into that game on the back of a win, just to maintain the run and keep the pressure on at the top of the table.

"The players are in buoyant mood at the minute without being complacent. I think we are playing well. Whether the players have hit the heights that they can I don't know, but there have been some great performances.

"Some individuals are playing at the top of their game at the moment. But the character of the team has pleased me the most.
"Seven wins in a row is not an easy achievement but the way they are playing at the minute, it is going to take a good team to stop us now.
"But there is a long way to go in the season.''
Emilio Izaguirre returns to the squad after recovering from a broken ankle sustained against Aberdeen in August.
Defender Daniel Majstorovic is out for six weeks with a fractured cheekbone he sustained in the 2-0 win against St Johnstone on Sunday.
Midfielders Joe Ledley and Paddy McCourt return from ankle and calf strains respectively while striker Anthony Stokes is still a doubt with a calf strain.
Kilmarnock midfielder James Dayton is eager to make his Celtic Park debut after returning to the starting line-up in style against Dundee United last weekend.
The wide midfielder had not started a game since a 2-1 defeat by St Johnstone on October 1, but regained his place after scoring off the bench in a win over Aberdeen.
Dayton, who lost his place after manager Kenny Shiels employed a narrower attacking formation, struck a contender for goal of the season in the 1-1 draw with United with a swerving 30-yard effort into the top corner.
The former Crystal Palace trainee is now looking to pin down a regular starting place.
"I started the first seven and thought I had done all right but the gaffer obviously changed formation and personnel,'' Dayton said.
"But he has given me a chance and hopefully I've taken it and can get another regular place in the side.
"Fitness-wise you don't feel as sharp because every 90 minutes is great for you but I think I came in on Saturday and did all right and obviously scored the goal.
"That brought my fitness up so hopefully that will stand me in good stead.''
Dayton missed most of last season through injury and was an unused substitute as Kilmarnock let slip a three-goal lead to draw with Celtic at Rugby Park in October.
So he is determined to make his mark if given the chance, with Killie in confident mood after going four matches unbeaten - a run that includes victory over Rangers.
The 23-year-old said: "I was disappointed not getting on in the last game but it was unlucky that we didn't hold on.
"It was great to go 3-0 up but it was unfortunate we didn't hold on to it. There is always a belief because we got three goals when we played them at home but they have pushed on from when we played them and they are looking really strong at the moment.
"We have had two good results against the Old Firm this season so we feel we can play against the Old Firm and get something. It will be interesting.
"I never played at Parkhead last year because I did my cruciate. So hopefully I will start this one. I'm looking forward to playing at the stadium and hopefully contributing and getting something from the game.''
Kilmarnock midfielder Dean Shiels will test out his injured ankle. However, Killie will not take risks with the on-loan Doncaster player with a game against St Johnstone next Wednesday to consider.
