The Foxes are looking to get their play-off challenge back on track after a 1-1 home draw against Ipswich extended their winless run in the Championship to four matches.

Wales international Andy King will among those players in line for a recall after the midfielder was omitted from the starting XI in favour of Yuki Abe on Boxing Day.

The only other change against Ipswich saw skipper Matt Mills replace Sean St Ledger at the heart of the defence alongside Sol Bamba.

Pearson is unlikely to tinker with his back four, meaning the best St Ledger can probably hope for is a place on the bench after the Republic of Ireland international failed to make the matchday squad following Mills' return from suspension.

Gelson Fernandes will also hope to be involved after missing out against the Tractor Boys while fellow midfielder Neil Danns and strikers Steve Howard and Jeffrey Schlupp are also options for Pearson.

Portsmouth will check on Luke Varney and Joel Ward ahead of the trip to Leicester.

Striker Varney has missed the last two matches with a knee injury but has had an injection to speed up his recovery and is rated 50/50 by manager Michael Appleton.

Midfielder Ward limped out of the 1-0 Boxing Day defeat at Millwall with a dead leg and will also be handed a late fitness test, with Aaron Mokoena on standby to fill in.

Skipper Liam Lawrence came through unscathed in his second appearance following seven weeks out with an ankle injury and will keep his place in midfield.

On-loan West Brom full-back Joe Mattock returns to the club where he started his career.
