St Johnstone striker Francisco Sandaza is "touch and go" for the game.
The Spaniard missed last weekend's win over Hearts with a thigh injury and will be given until the last moment to prove his fitness.
His strike partner Cillian Sheridan (hamstring) remains out, together with Jody Morris (hamstring) and Frazer Wright (thigh).
Keith Lasley will return for the Motherwell.
The midfielder missed last Friday's abandoned clash with Hibernian with a thigh strain but has trained without problem over the last two days.
Steven Saunders remains on the long-term injury list with an Achilles problem.

Saints will leapfrog third-placed Motherwell in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League if they beat the Lanarkshire side on Saturday and follow it up by avoiding defeat against Aberdeen three days later.
St Johnstone are looking to continue their unbeaten start to life under Steve Lomas having taken seven points from games against Rangers, Hibernian and Hearts.
"We are trying to aim as high as we can in the league,'' Millar said. "We're on a good run and we want to keep that going.
"It will be a tough game against Motherwell, who are obviously doing really well.
"But a win on Saturday and then we have a game in hand and we can jump above them, so there is a lot riding on it.
"The next three games are massive for us and can really shape our season. We have three games at home against Motherwell, Aberdeen and Celtic.
"If we can take seven points it could set us up to really kick on and try to cement a top-six place, and that would be progress for us.''
Striker Francisco Sandaza is "touch and go'' for the clash.
