If Chelsea can put together a run of positive results they will be in a much better frame of mind by the time Napoli visit Stamford Bridge on 14 March.
It will be interesting to see if Villas-Boas recalls one or two players to offset criticism that he is "outing" his opponents in the dressing room. Ashley Cole is sure to return, but will Michael Essien and Frank Lampard earn starts? On the evidence of Tuesday's defeat to Napoli, Villas-Boas certainly needs to stiffen his midfield.
The other dilemma concerns David Luiz. Although he's a very good footballer, he is error prone. I'm not sure he makes an ideal partner for Gary Cahill, who faces his old side on Saturday, but Villas-Boas doesn't have many alternatives following John Terry's injury and the sale of Alex.
