Wolves, who faced relegation last year until the final three minutes of the season, play in front of their home supporters for the first time since the horrendous derby defeat by West Brom, which cost Mick McCarthy his job. It also comes off the back of another five-goal defeat at Fulham last weekend and the well-publicised problems with club captain Roger Johnson.
In many ways, Terry Connor couldn't have taken over as manager at a worse time, but on the flip side you would think that Wolves can only improve. Perhaps they will be galvanised for Connor's first home game as manager.
Wolves must play on the fact that it's 30 matches since Blackburn kept a clean sheet, in part due to them lacking the stability they had last year when Chris Samba and Ryan Nelsen formed a solid defensive partnership. It will be interesting to see if Connor recalls leading scorer Steven Fletcher, as Kevin Doyle looked isolated in attack last weekend.
Opposing goalkeepers Wayne Hennessey and Paul Robinson have been very exposed this season but they have made a series of good saves to bolster their sides' survival chances. I expect Connor and his opposite number Steve Kean will try and tighten up their respective defences and that this will be a cagey, nervous game. With games running out, you certainly wouldn't want to be the loser.
