Little wonder promoter Dave Coldwell has called it ’The Big Bang’. Both men like to trade heavily, though Bellew can box clever, too.

Irascible and intelligent, Bellew always has a line. “There are only two things Scousers are good at: making jokes and fighting, and I love fighting. It’s in me,” he says.
He can be funny, too, but not when he’s in the face of a rival.
Few are expecting this fight to go to the judges’ cards over the championship distance, but knowing Bellew, he will have something up his sleeve.
The contest has been delayed thirteen days due to a mass exodus from Liverpool, with the Grand National and the Liverpool-Everton FA Cup semi-final both having taken place on April 14.
It should be worth waiting for. Both have already been titlists, Bellew the Commonwealth, and McIntosh the European 175lb crown.
Bellew’s WBO world title challenge against Nathan Cleverly was without question one of the fights of 2011, and although outboxed in the late rounds, the Liverpudlian emerged with his reputation enhanced.
It was the toughest, arguably closest, fight of Cleverly’s career.
Conversely, McIntosh was stopped in the seventh by Cleverly when they met two years earlier in a British title defence for Cleverly.
Bellew has a vast armoury, clever movement and an appetite for an attritional war. McIntosh has a huge right had, which he has used to great effect, having stopped seven of 13 victims.

Bellew has the solitary loss - to Cleverly - in 17 contests. Bellew should be able control the fight with his accuracy, unless he is caught off guard by McIntosh, or, indeed, drawn into a war.

But Bellew has matured, and should win on points, or by late stoppage.
