Aberdeen midfielder Kari Arnason: "All the boys are tired. You look at the players and some of them are like deflated balloons especially players who have played most of the games.

"You get knocks here and there as well which doesn't help."

"For two thirds of the season I started quite well and lived up to expectations.

"The last third has been not good enough and the team haven't been performing as well."

St Mirren captain Jim Goodwin: "We started very well and set high standards.

"Then the middle part of the season we didn't play so well. That part of the season has cost us.

"From the start of the season we maintained we wanted to try for a top-six position. It wasn't to be, maybe teams figured us out and we stopped going for what we were good at maybe.

"I will look back overall and be slightly disappointed. I look back at the amount of draws we had. If we had turned a few of those draws into wins we might have been in the top half.

"We have still made great strides from last year, we're competing for seventh place which St Mirren fans haven't seen for a long time.

"So in that aspect it's been a success but overall there is a tinge of disappointment."
