Of course you did. Did you know that they went into the last day of that season level on points with Manchester United, who blew their title chances by losing against Sunderland? Neither did I until our Match of the Day stats boffins told me.
If United are to steal the title from under the noses of their neighbours, they must at least do their part of the job better than back in 1968 and win their game on Wearside. If Sir Alex Ferguson's side do take the lead at Sunderland whilst City are stuck at 0-0 against QPR, then you can be sure that news will travel fast.
Maybe then City might start to feel the pressure of ending 44 years of playing second fiddle? It's not very likely, but it's the straw United fans are clinging to.
Some sense of reality has settled on the Stadium of Light after a few heady weeks when it seemed as though magic Martin O'Neill had transformed them from relegation candidates to potential European qualifiers.
The bubble seemed to have been burst a little when they lost that FA Cup quarter-final replay at home to Everton and the Black Cats have since taken only eight points from nine Premier League games.
Mid-table is probably about right at the moment for a squad short on goals and real stardust. O'Neill will look to address both issues this summer.
What are the chances of United wining a 20th title on Sunday? A United-supporting cabbie in Manchester reckoned about five percent when I asked him this week.
I wouldn't argue with that, but if Sir Alex and his team can turn it into a test of mental strength over the season's last few moments, my money would be on them.
