West Tigers vs Sydney Roosters  preview

Wests Tigers confidence will be riding high this week following the club's drought-breaking 38-14 defeat of North Queensland last Saturday night.

Just days after the club's recruitment plans became clear, the Tigers broke the shackles to run in six tries against the Cowboys, who had won the previous seven games at Dairy Farmers Stadium.

And in a further boost to their morale ahead of Saturday night's clash with the Roosters is the return of long-term injured stars Lote Tuqiri and Todd Payten. Their comebacks give coach Tim Sheens one of his strongest line-ups of the season.

The Roosters thrashed the Tigers 24-6 in the Round 4 clash at the Sydney Football Stadium and they will be hopeful of a repeat with a side brimming with talent this week.

They will have 13 members of last year's grand final 17 in action as they attempt to climb from the bottom rungs of the ladder over the next seven weeks.

The Roosters' plans to stage a late surge for the top eight appeared to be extinguished by last weekend's golden point loss to the Rabbitohs. They would have to win all seven of their remaining games to qualify.

Stick with a Wests Tigers try as First Scoring Play and a Tigers victory by 1-12 points.

For First Tryscorer look to Blake Ayshford, Tim Moltzen or Chris Lawrence for the Tigers or Sam Perrett, Kane Linnett or Joseph Leilua for the Roosters.
