Wolverhampton v QPR English Premier League Preview

Saturday, 17 September 2011
Barclays Premier League
Wolverhampton v QPR, 15:00 BST
Venue: Molineux

Queens Park Rangers will travel to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday at Molineux.

Wolves are sweating on the fitness of striker Steven Fletcher, who will receive a late fitness test on a groin injury. England international winger Matt Jarvis has shaken off an ankle injury and will play for Wolves.

Armand Traore has shaken off cramp and will play for QPR, while Kieron Dyer, Jamie Mackie and Rob Hule are all injury absentees.
This is the 37th meeting between the sides. Wolves have won 15 times, QPR nine and there have been 13 draws.
It's the first top-flight league meeting between the clubs since the 1983/84 season, when QPR completed the league double over Wolves, including an emphatic 4-0 win at Molineux.
Wolves have lost only one of their last 15 league matches against Queens Park Rangers dating back to September 1998. That defeat was by 1-0 at Loftus Road in December 2008, with Martin Rowlands the scorer.
Wolves won their most recent encounter 1-0 in April 2009, when Sylvan Ebanks-Blake scored the winner in the Championship clash. Four of that starting line-up (Hennessey, Berra, Henry and Ward) began last time out against Tottenham. QPR's line-up against Newcastle had no survivors from that defeat at Molineux.
Wolves

Mick McCarthy's men are winless in their last two league matches and have failed to score in 225 minutes.
This is Wolves' third straight home match against a side from the capital; they won one and lost one of the previous two.
Stephen Ward is set to make his 150th league appearance for Wolves.
QPR

Rangers have scored just once in 360 minutes of Premier League football this term - that was Tommy Smith's winner at Everton. If they fail to score on Saturday, it will equal their Premier League club record of three matches in a row without a goal, set from August to September 1992 and April to May 1995.
QPR have kept two clean sheets in three games since their 4-0 capitulation at home to Bolton on the opening day of the season.
QPR have used 26 different players in the league this season - the equal-most in the division with Arsenal.
Neil Warnock has won only one of 10 matches against Wolves, including Sheffield United's 3-0 defeat in the 2003 Championship Play-Off final.
Jay Bothroyd scored 12 goals in 57 league matches for Wolves between 2006 and 2008.
