I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and say that this is foreshadowing. Back at Terra Nova, we come to learn that the Shannon family is getting more comfortable with their surroundings and each other.The kids are taking survival classes and learning great life lessons like building fires and eating worms. I think that the worm eating lesson would have gone over better if they would have just shown the kids Timon and Puma eating bugs in the Lion King, because those guys made it look delicious!

Later that night we learn that Elizabeth and Jim are sleeping in the same bed again, and that means one thing. Hanky panky time. Unfortunately, those pesky winged beasts interrupt the coitus, which makes Jim blue in the ... face. The next day, Taylor takes Jim to find the missing security team thinking that Sixers have got a hold of them.

Reviews

While everyone seems to be assimilating to Terra Nova life, they all still have questions. Jim wants to know why the Sixers want to kill Taylor, but only gets vague answers. Elizabeth runs into an old friend named Malcolm and they want to know what killed the Terra Nova security guys. Maddy wants to know how to know if a boy likes her. Out of those three, I think that Maddy's question is the best, because I still don't know the answer to that one.

In the market Josh wants to get his hands on a guitar, but it will cost him 60 Terrans, which is outrageous after the 2149 dollar exchange rate. Jim finds out about Malcolm and Elizabeth's past and wants to know more about what happened between them, but she assures him that it was nothing.

That night it is seriously time for Hanky Panky and nothing will stop Jim from reacquainting himself with his wife. Except for the Pterosaurs who come back that night. Jim and Josh do what most people do when confronted by strange animals and throw rocks at them. To their surprise, the Pterosaurs get pissed and attack them. Who would've thought that that would happen?

Past Loves

Afterwards, Josh is inspected for his wounds from throwing rocks at dinosaurs, which still seems like a stupid idea to me. Malcolm wants to set up a protocol for people when they are around the birds, no, excuse me, reptiles, but Taylor wants to shut down the compound.

Jim finds outs that Malcolm requested Elizabeth to be selected for the tenth pilgrimage and starts to get a little suspicious. Back at the market, Josh tries to trade a bunch of worthless garbage for the guitar, but the seller wants the necklace that he is wearing. Josh says no and Skye realizes that it is a gift from Josh's 2149 girlfriend, Kara.

Mating Season

That's when the Pterosaurs attack the market like a scene out of Hitchcock's The Brids. Mating Season: Malcolm and Elizabeth find out that the brids, sorry, the reptiles, are migrating due to a nine year breeding cycle. It isn't a few Pterosaurs coming to get their freak on either, it's millions of them. Taylor evacuates the market and puts the compound on lock down. Jim and Taylor hunt down two specimens for Malcolm and Elizabeth to make pheromones in their lab to get rid of the winged beasts.
