Smith, who made 110 Test appearances in the back-row for the Wallabies, has been named in the No.12 shirt alongside Morgan Turinui - with Martin Rodriguez missing out.

That will see Smith, who started on the flank against Perpignan last time out, in direct opposition to former international team-mate Matt Giteau.

Antoine Burban replaces Smith in the back-row as part of eight changes of personnel for the clash - with Hugo Bonneval, Jules Plisson, David Lyons, Alexandre Flanquart, Tom Palmer, Aled De Malmanche and Stan Wright also starting.

Anton van Zyl, Sergio Parisse and Julien Dupuy are among those who drop to the bench.
Benched

Toulon, who drew 25-25 win Castres last time out, have made five changes to their line-up for the all-Top 14 affair.

Four of the switches come into the pack, with a new-look front-row of Davit Kubriashvili, Jean-Charles Orioli and Laurent Emmanuelli and Worcester-bound lock Dean Schofield all starting.

The final alternation comes at outside centre with Geoffroy Messina preferred to the benched Gaby Lovobalavu for the 2010 runners-up.

Sebastien Bruno, Eifion Lewis-Roberts and Carl Hayman are also named among the replacements, with Joe El Abd and Jocelino Suta also included.
